It is built to last with a solid non-tropical hardwood screwed and glued frame, comfortable and durable fire retardant fibre support, heavy gauge serpentine steel seat springing and solid hardwood legs. The surface of the thick leather upholstery is treated with a hardwearing finish that doesn't detract from its original appearance and adds to its strength but allows it to improve with age.
